As much as I do?I think it goes way back from my grand mother, or perhaps the fond memories of my husbands grand mother always making anyone who enters the kitchen wear an apron

remember my patchwork apron?

well it has found a new home hanging on the door of the laundry room at my sisters house yea yea I’m so sweet! LOL & mercy me! when I made 15 for my grand daughters food network birthday party

my little collection could use some growing lol!

the dotted one is made from a dishtowel I purchased from a sweet granny who had a booth across from me a few years ago,the ruffled one is from Pier One , a b’day gift from sister, the black/white, I made from a panel, the pinkie calico one I made from a simplicy pattern, the green one from a sweet granny I came across at a local craft show, as you can see the blue patchwork one didn’t stay long enough to hang out with the others LOL!

I will be making aprons for my shows, so just maybe I’ll sneak in a few just for me lol! would you like to see my apron eye candy folder I have on Pinterest?

Happy Valentines to you my friend, how ever you spend your day may it be filled with love, peace & happiness I’ll be sewing today, yep it doesn’t take much to make me happy lol! helping my daughter finish up an outfit for the twin’s upcoming birthday, the big 4! where does time go lol!

the sewing room is almost pass the thinking possess lol I love the rustic look yet the shabby chi calls me as well as the cottage look, is there a way to combine all three humm well there comes a time to just do it so I’m told lol!the more I look, the more calls me such as dress forms, now wouldn’t this print be so sweet in the sewing room

along with a dress form or two

so many ideas I wantta incorporate into the sewing room but as they say there’s only so much room , I think once the room is empty & tone down that dark yellow get some curtains up , get all my eye candy pictures together it’ll come together quicker I’m giving myself to the end of Feb. what do you do craft wise besides sewing? I want to spend more time outside this year, tweak the yard & make it ohh so pretty, perhaps even have a garden if I remember how it’s been so long lol

maybe I can talk the older grand daughters into helping with the tweaking, they do want to learn to sew soooo that could be a great trade off LOL! shhhhh don’t wake me outta my sweet dream lol! the little ones will do anything just because it's fun! fun! fun! lol!

yea yea I know there’s kites out there in the stores somewhere but where would the bonding be in that huh? seven grand kids making kites & going to the park & having a picnic too boot! shhhhhh! don’t wake me!

remember when I stared my picnic quilt a few weeks ago

yesterday in-between cleaning & washing cloths I worked on a few more blocks, you put 6 together to make one 12”block, if I put these together it’ll be one block down

with 30 something more to go lol this will be a lap quilt about the size of a throw blanket so there’s still a whole lotto cutting to be done, I’m in no hurry for this project as it is a “just for me” project” so I work on it in-between working on other stuff, guess you could say on my breaks lol

it will be a great start on a new project when I finish my blue quilt which has to be finished by the end of March seeings I entered it in a finish along challenge ,which I’m glad I did cause it prompted me to get it out of the closet

I could whip it through the machine in no time but I started it a year ago with my Aunt & to make a long story short she will ask if I hand stitched it like she taught me, she’s getting up in her 90’s now & starting to have moments of forgetfulness, this drives me to finish it as I can't wait to take it & show it to her & believe you me she will inspect it good! LOL!

Do you ever start out to do something, then things just happen to have to take priority, life in general, babies being born, holidays, birthdays yea excuses excuses lol last year when I painted the sewing room yellow, it didn’t turn out the happy yellow that I was expecting so plans were to paint it over & give the room a whole new look

hummm what have I been doing you say? LIFE! LOL! we just celebrated sisters 60th, my b’days coming up hee hee, I have a granddaughters b’day to help set up this weekend, a ladies meeting & valentine banquet to prepare for, & the list goes on & on for Feb. lol

but I am making progress, lol I’m gradually packing up the sewing room, keeping out only the necessaries for sewing special projects, I’m temporarily sewing in the kitchen ha ha & I have a few quilt projects going, we’ve been culling out & tweaking a room at a time, the office is looking more like an office

but in the meantime I still long for my sewing room to be back to it’ pretty creative space, so I collect inspiration, jot down notes, sketch out how I want the room, the big plans are to make it happen by the end of Feb.

can you take 50 plus rooms & turn them into one LOL

how awesome would this room be for sewing parties

do you have a sewing space to die for, does it inspire you to create something beautiful even if nobody cares? I think I shall print & frame this quote

Yesterday I worked on a birthday surprise for sister, can you guess what I was working on

give up????? here’s a hint, take the batting strips & wrap around Styrofoam balls,

then wrap fabric strips around the batting & what do you get????

that’s right! Rag Balls! LOL! wrapping the batting around the Styrofoam balls made them soft to the touch, plus I love that you are able to stitch the fabric strip to the batting as posed to glue, just one dot of glue used to hold the beginning of the batting strip, no more hard rag balls! yea!

can you believe we’re about to go into week four ,my how time flies,I’ve had 3 muslin ladybugs cut & sewn up for quite some time for a “me wreath” LOL!oh how cute my door will be come Spring or wall LOL! after twisting, putting in, taking out I finally got it to where I was happy with it

can you see the little antenna's , I bent a thin wire around a tooth pick & that seemed to work just fine

I didn’t have time to finish my snowmen ornies this past show time but they're all ready this years show, I still need to add a little touch of babys breath

Tweaking the sewing room sure makes it challenging to finish up UFO’s, it’s more of a UFO hunt in there LOL aww but when it’s all done anyways, do you have things surrounding you that make you smile, things that get those creative juices flowing, simple things like pins for example, the picture makes them darker than they are but they remind me of the old thyme Jacks, they are happiest on my chicken pincushion speaking of pincushions..well I wont get you excited about that just yet LOL, remember my UFO I posted for the after Christmas sew along, well taaaa daaa! it’s finished http://sewmuch2luv.blogspot.com/2011/12/2012-after-christmas-sew-along.html

2012 FINISH-A-LONG UPDATE

back when I started this quilt, my Aunt & me started it on her quilting frame which she passed on to me a few years ago it was over 100 years old, I kept it stored in my shop which the tornado got hold of, we’ve not been able to get into to it to see how much can be salvaged so I had this quilting hoop, which I’m not sure I’m going to like very much LOL

my sweet little Aunt is strong believer in doing things the good ole ways, as in hand stitching,like when I would try to show her how now you can sew strips then waa laa a nine patch, no mam! she’d say, if it calls for 1” squares then that’s what we’re gonna cut LOL, I shifted the hoops around & managed to get 2 blocks inside it

I have a new quilting /sewing machine but when she ask did I make it by hand , like I taught you I want to be able to say yes mam! I sur did! lol if the hoop & me doesn’t get along I guess I’ll be holding the quilt in my lap & hope for the best lol

for the After Christmas Sew Along I will be working on some aprons, sewing is at a stand still today as I’m having to get the house ready for an electrician to come in tomorrow

THOUGHTS TO PONDER

January is a month for fresh new beginnings, as we cull out, declutter, organize, fresh paint here & there, new looks,fix things along the way , clear up more of the tornado damage, revamp the blogs, all is right with the world, well mine anyways LOL

with February close behind, most think of it as a love month, filled with sweetness, candy, & romance I like to think of it as month to fall back in love with my home, the sweetness of looking around & seeing things that make me mile, taking a break from orders & working on show stuff & making things for my home, my home has missed me & I have sorely missed it from being so busy,I can’t wait to rekindle the romance between us lol

there are a few projects in store ,a few fun challenges, check my side bar & get in on the fun , to keep updated on all the changes you’ll have to check back often on all of my blogs as each one reflects different interest

today I am packing up the sewing room, don’t get scared, it’s just to make room for the new changes that are coming!

first quarter is from Jan 1st-Mar.31, projects must be UFO’s needing to be finished, this is perfect for my poor quilt that has been neglected but not forgotten

I stared this quilt 2 years ago with my Aunt Anniebell, she left me me her quilting frame for 2 weeks & when it was time to return it to her I was no further along on the quilt, shame shame LOL, I have said I will finish this quilt this year, mainly because it need to be done but more importantly Aunt Anniebell is getting up in years & starting to forget a few things from time to time &I want to be able to show her I finished it while she still remembers us creating it

I found my tan fabric that got lost in the sewing room LOL!that I was going to use for the skirt & ties, this is the bib, I have 2 ready to be finished, if I don’t keep one for myself they’ll be packed up for my upcoming 2012 shows lol

so what are you getting into for the New Year, I actually had paint in my hand to be mixed at Lowes today but the sales girl never would come to the register & after they paged her about 4 times I said forget it, I’ll find something else to get into today & put it back

I decided to go on & dress the little tree with the dried oranges even though I sliced some too thin causing them to get way too dark

the prim reindeer, is one of the many things I picked up at an Antique Mall while visiting my sister-n-law in VA. this past Thanksgiving

mama, daddy & baby are happy to be a part of my beloved treasures

THREE MORE DAYS

Till we’ll be ringing in the New Year, we've been running to & fro since Thanksgiving, there’s a lot been happening & so much to share &

LOL I sold just about everything at my last show so the upcoming year will be busy with lost of new items to get together, this is all I have left

along with a few pillows, a skinny pr of Ann/Andy, less than a hand full of Curious George toys left & UFO’s are down to less than a handful, this upcoming year will be the first in a long time I’ve had to practically start from the beginning, but that’s a good thing lol first thing right after the Holidays I’ll work on those few UFO’s then sew sew sew, for Sept. will be here before I know it!

SNOW IN A CAN

Have you ever used snow in a can? Is there such a thing as too much? LOL should I add more, take it off & start over? humm not sure maybe it’ll have a whole new look once things are added to it such as the berries I preserves last week brought back from my sister-n-laws in VA. but that’s what I’m getting into today LOL

Well I attempted drying those orange slices in the oven, went by exactly how the site said, but some still burned, I think I got some too thin & some too thick, I may redo more later or just go with these for now & finish decorating this little tree

meanwhile this morning I tried my hand at making the brown sugar scrub, now to find the perfect little jars & ribbons, only is it supposed to look like wet sand??? LOL

& I’m off again! finishing up the church decorating then back to my friends to finish decorating her shop for her open house tomorrow, I was there yesterday from 8am-8pm whew! still much to be done, can’t wait for my free day that’s coming up on my calendar ohhh it’s sooo close! LOL

DAY TWO

while in Virginia at my brother-n-laws for Thanksgiving, I came home with a bag full of holly branches, they actually have a holly tree, I’ve never seen a tree only brushes, course Chris thought that was funny lol, she told me if I’d spray a sealer on it that it should last forever, so I sprayed away & poked it in the fence gate to dry , I’ve always wanted one of those bigger than life wreaths sprayed with snow & the holly from Hobby Lobby, you know…the ones you still can’t touch even after the big sale LOL, I have a huge wreath, now I have the holly , now to pick up a can of snow humm add snow to the list lol

WELL YOU ASKED FOR IT! PICTURES! PICTURES! PICTURES! LOL

with set backs from the tornado, which is still a mess here but still blessed praise God! then my Aunt passed away, which was very hard on my mom so with what little I had I was very pleased how my show turned out & very blessed, I came home with less than 1/2 what I set out with, the big plans are to call in reinforcements &get started fresh after the 1st of the year

I had a tote full of toys & came home with less than could fit in one of those crates

All of my Americana sold this year

Block man reassuring Frosty, it’s ok! he’s done this show lots of times lol the 2 block snowmen are now proudly sitting in the entry of my daughters door way, gonna miss them lol

sometimes it’s sad to see something go a fast as you’ve made it lol but I know Snow Angel & her baby will be loved in their new home

Sherrie is a sweet friend that goes to my church ,this year we were close enough to each check on each other from time to time

this sweet lady is always less than 2 tables down from me ,I look forward to seeing her every year, I bought a jar of pepper sauce from her & the next morning she wrote down how she made it for me, sweet!

I had doubts whether or not to do this show this year, even came very close to just bringing it all back home but I stuck it out Fri. 9am-9pm & Sat. 9am-3pm so glad I did for I was blessed far beyond what I expected , looking forward to starting fresh & anew for the new year, 1st thing on the to do list is tie into the sewing room & get it all organized, make a supply list, start stocking up, start cutting & sewing projects up ready for stuffing

I have one more big pink headed Annie to make for my niece for Christmas

then it’s “just for me sewing time” lol there’s fabric still waiting to be turned into pillowcases, aprons to finish, pillows for my living room, curtains for my sewing room & on & on goes the list of “things to do just for me” LOL!

ever wonder if there's life after shows? LOL does it really ever stop? besides all the cleaning from all the sewing, painting & gunging that went flying everywhere I' guess I'll get back to those "just for me" projects & finish organizing the house & getting ready for the Holidays, today I'm rearranging & organizing the office, soooo tired of things getting lost in here but I have a plan to stop that lol I took show pic's with my daughters camera & lol & behold it don't fit my tower ughhhhh sooooo after I transfer them to a cd from Wal-Mart or somewhere then off that onto here I'll post them , what a mess! lol I"m thinking of selling off all of my inventory, UFO's included & start fresh next year, after the Holidays settle the big plans are to get things cut out & sewed so come show time it'll all be ready for stuffing & putting together, not much to think about today but that's my thoughts for today

We’re almost ready to go, ready or not the time has come , have you watched the show Food Network where they make their dishes for the judges & then they count down & shout , “chefs times up!step away”

as I looked around the sewing room last night I realized it was time to just step away from the machine, what’s done is done & let the lower end hang & go to bed, something I’d almost forgotten how to do

besides, who’s gonna clean this mess up ,lol, there’s a lot of sanding to be done to this big ole gal to get her to that nice prim stage my gingers didn’t turn out as dark as I’d hope for but this late in the game they’ll have to do, well with 24 hours, 10 min & a few seconds to spare, I might could fix them LOL

while looking for totes in the shed ,I found these guys hiding in the far back , thank goodness they weren’t UFO’s LOL

I think once I finish getting everything priced , fluffed & tweaked I’ll come up with more than I realize I have, for yesterday was to be my deadline, my all nighter to get it all done but my heart just wasn’t in it & still not, the phone rang early yesterday, it was my sister telling me that our Aunt had passed away, this now leaves my mom down to one sister out of seven brothers & sisters

my heart aches in so many different directions, my heart aches for my mom who is getting up in years & because of health reasons can’t even get out to attend her sisters funeral, my heart aches for my cousins, Pam, Mary, Bill, Gary, Terry & Danny who now have lost both parents & having to face the upcoming Holidays & explain to children why grandma isn’t there

depending on how my mom holds out will determine if I try to do my show & a funeral back to back this weekend

buzz buzz buzz goes the alarm at 5:30 am this morning, a little chilly for my taste this morning but not enough for full blown out heat forces lol so I plug up the little electric heater to get the chill out of the sewing room, make a cup of coffee & proceed to start my morning, I'm on a good roll when the power goes out ,there was a bad wreck just above the house, took out a power pole so I move to plan B which was to sit by the window light & get some stuffing work done then it rained, yea you guessed it, got dark! LoL by this time it’s time to go to town & take care of getting the oil changed & while I”m on that side of town we stop & surprise the grand kids with pizza’s

home & put hubby back to bed for a nap as he has to go back in tonight so I’ll be pulling an all nighter or till I fall asleep, which ever comes first LOL because

Till show time that is, actually only 10 left for sewing, stuffing, painting, sorting , tagging, packing ughhhhhh when you consider the 10th I go & set up & seeing it’s a 9am –9pm that Fri there’ll be no trying to make anything that night for sure lol then turn right around & go back the next day

If I’m not fighting the machine, it’s the camera, pictures are in there but wont show up when I put the chip in the tower, not sure what’s up with that, I even deleted 5 non important pictures & took them again, still wont show up hummmmmm

so pictures today are pitiful lol finishing up those UFO’s

~lol~ do you think I’ll get a lot out of this bag? Walmart has just about stopped carrying anything & everything to do with sewing, now all they have are these big 50 oz bags of poly-fil some of the walmart still have the regular sized bags but they’re a lot smaller now & have gone up in price

something as simple as running out of black thread can cause a sewing room to shut down LOL, couldn’t put anybody’s eyes one, no mouths, no eyelashes, you getting the picture? LOL but not to fear, I now have 3 big spools ready to tackle all those Annies bright & early in the morning

meantime I switched over & started making gingers the rest of the day, they will look close to this when done All was going good till I tried to sew my finger LOL

the more I look, the more I find, I’ve been at it since 5:30 this morning, got all the little noses & stars painted for the snowmen ornies, found scarves & hats that will turn into snowmen wreaths later, a nice size Annie & her snowman just needs a head of hair

in-between all the sewing, painting & grunging madness, I’m finishing up a 36” pink headed Annie for my pastors grand daughters 2nd birthday, there’s Oreo balls to be made for my grand daughters 13th birthday party, (tons of them) lol, help my daughter set her church gym up for the party ,all this in the next 48 hours lol

after the party Fri night hubby & I will head out for Tenn he was supposed to go out of town the 29th but that got changed to the 23rd so it’s home late Sat. night from Ten ,up Sun morning & off he goes lol

I recently pulled close to everything out of the sewing room into the new shed so’s to be able to better organize, paint etc. now it seems it’s a scavenger hunt everyday ~lol~ have you ever came across body's & wonder what pattern did you come from???

Every time I look at this Annie I can’t help but laugh about how she came about, I call her JoJo’s little sister, I had an order for JOJO a few years ago , well JOJO is a big gal right at 36””, her pattern is one of those that say add 4” here & 5” there, well I got ahead of myself & forgot to add the inches, when finished I noticed she sure was long armed & legged to be so short LOL I sent the picture to my customer & explained & told her I’d make another ASAP but when she saw her she fell in love & said send me my baby I love her just like she is! LOL thus little sister was born! this year I will be making JOJO & JoJo’s little sister LOL

To Show Time, where does the time go & why does it go by so fast lol 30 days till time to set up, today I went through all the patterns Maurine gave methere’s over 50 wonderful patterns, raggedys, prims & there's some big gals in here too lol ,there’s some I know I’ll be making & introducing to my show, she also loaded me down with fabric, which I’ll probably roll up all cutie like & display in my sewing room

I’m thinking maybe make some pillows, or a sewing machine cover with some that goes with the new colors in the sewing room, yea this may appear as playing but I assure you it’s more on the thinking & pondering process LOL then I went through boxes I’d packed up when I emptied out the sewing room & found a some UFO’s they’ll be so cute when finished

then there was a bag, hummm what’s in here cardinal & snowmen ornie UFO’s, when I find where I put the accessories ~lol~ they’ll look like this

A SNEAK PEAK INTO THE SEWING ROOM

What to do with all these delicious red & white squares, there’s a little over 170 something I think

as you know I’ve been trying to get the “aww love to be in here feel” back into the sewing room, I didn’t have paint on my mind when I choose this color, which is a lot darker than shown on the paint card, nothing seems to work with it giving it a make me wantta scram feel LOL but I’ve put the color aside (for now) lol & trying to arrange things around to get my mojo flowing again, just 6 1/2 weeks till show time!

I’m liking the chair in this corner but also am considering putting a round table there for cutting, eating puzzle time etc lol

these cabinets are actually top of a cabinet that was in my parents trailer years & years ago, I’m thinking of painting them either a rich white or black, I’m liking them here but there’s a plug behind there & this room has limited plugs then again they may just have to go lol

Demolition of the sewing room so to speak lol ever since I had it painted yellow it has lost it’s mojo flow, kinda makes me wantta scream when I’m was in there lol but then as time went on it became a throw that in there kinda room LOl oh mercy do I dare share the process LOL but bless it’s little ole sweet pea picking sewing room heart it’s goanna get revamped & beautified this coming week, I’ve been sorting all the UFO’s & all the patterns, supplies etc & placing everything in totes etc then out to the shed they’ll go leaving a wide open empty room to work with then I will sort through & put things where they go whew! I can do this! I can do this! lol

now this is actually a closet LOL truly it is, it will be transformed back into a closet , a surprise for hubby, a whole closet all to himself , may even put a chair in there for time out lol just kidding,the chair will go in my closet so I can reach the top shelves LOL but the sewing room & the closet are my big projects on the list this week while he’s out of town , see all those UFO’s LOL

now for these screaming yellow walls humm will curtains calm them down, I’ve had a few suggest painting the trim cream or white, that yellow is suppose to be calming ,so we’ll see what happens this week , just being able to see the floor is getting my mojo juices flowing & that’s good cause I’m down to 6 weeks till show time!

Well Maurine is still trying to get her finished pictures outta of cyber space, some of mine disappear too lol having to take some over is always fun lol

I finally got that apron together that’s been cut out for nearly 2 years, it’s hard to see but there are 2 pockets on the front

I finished an Americana wreath that’s been in the works for a while, this is the 3rd American wreath I’ve made & till not one for me lol,I was going to add it to my show this year but my niece fell in love with it so being the sweet Auntie that I am…LOL

it took 2 weeks to get wallpaper off the kitchen walls, whew! what a mess,the paper on the paneled wall behind it came off with it

the paint is a lot lighter than I had planed on, it was supposed to been a light creamy beige but it’s too close to white for my comfort lol, so who knows what will happen there lol I’m still tweaking the kitchen, hanging my antique lard buckets, tea kettles etc over the table so there’ll be an overall picture coming up soon

I almost almost got pillowcases finished lol so thought I’d go ahead & show you what they’ll look like once they’re sewn up the sides yea yea I know but it’s almost midnight! lol the others are somewhere but oh well the will be finished by Monday & taken to my granddaughters

I’m not sure if there is such a thing as no unfinished projects LOL but it’s good to be able to mark them off one by one, I have 30 something naked traditional Raggedy Ann bodies to dress by Nov for my Christmas show , I will finish my quilt the week hubby is outta town, unless I find some UFO’s hiding in the sewing room that should get me caught up ,yea I’m not too sure I believe that either LOL

Is there a favorite ornie that you like to make, do you make it over & over again, which ones seem to be best sellers for you, in the Fall candy corn & crows always sell pretty good, out of all the ornies I make I’d have to say I favor my gingerbread boys, snowmen & redbirds

can’t you just see a tree full of these redbirds, I actually made 28 two years ago for the Prim Mart Ornie swap, I have some new ornie patterns I want to try out this year for my Christmas show, my goal this year is to have a 6ft tree full of ornies

Out of all the Fall Annie's, I think Annie's Scarecrow has to be my favorite to make & she was always a good seller

In an older issue of Country MarketPlace I came across the pattern for Autumn Annie, I was very pleased that she was true to size to the pattern, she was also made up for a giveaway on my blog a few years ago Candy Corn Annie made her way into many a hearts, I never tired making her Candy Corn was always a good show seller

You can create these little pillows by cutting & sewing a 5” /4”/3” squares A few years ago I joined in on a doll swap & this is what I received from my swap partner, aren’t they just the sweetest ? they still get to sit out as I still love them For the Fall my Horn of Plenty will replace the pitcher of daises

pumpkin pie will replace the crow pie

The rooster is happy that he gets to stay lol

I’m working hard on getting that sewing room where it doesn’t make me scream, anybody got any ideas there? I painted it what I thought was going to be a soothing yellow but it is not a calming atmosphere to me lol the big plans are to have everything caught up inside & out & have a week of living in the sewing room , movies, good books, long bubble baths,get my toes done, yea yea dreaming right? my pastors wife's mother MS Annie Lee Ragsdale is one of my sweetest & dearest friends , a few of us went to stay with her a while back to help set up to the world of internet ~lol~ this is one of the many quilts she pulled out for us to admire, we’re making plans for another visit & have some quilting time

along with lots of laughter, long talks,there was lots of yahtzee ,I’d never played before but yet kept getting a yahtzee~lol~

I finally got an apron collection started, I’ve always loved aprons ever since my husbands grandmother introduced me to them way way back in the 70’s lol I remember all those sweet memories of family gathered in the kitchen, talking laughing, windows fogging from the cooking, but she had one rule in the kitchen & that was YOU HAD TO WEAR AN APRON or don't enter LOL even if you weren’t part of the cooking detail ,say if you just wanted to sit at the table & engage in conversation with the ones preparing etc you had to wear an apron, yes aprons were a must to enter the kitchen at grandma Lucille's house LOL

CULLING OUT

A while back I was trying to redo & update the sewing room, remember it going from green walls to yellow? well the yellow still makes me want to scream lol so one last try, everything out! painting will begin again, although some have suggested painting the trim white to tone down the yellow, I may give that a try before going crazy with the paint , I will post a picture of the over all room as soon as I get it all emptied out, there’s just got to be a happy medium in that room somewhere LOL

HELP WITH JAVA SCRIPT

ok so here’s the problem, 2 months of computer guy not putting in the right thing to begin with & adding all new things I didn’t ask for nor know how to work, & taking off programs that I had ohhh lets cut through the chase here if possible ~lol~

when I go to make a post & click “publish” I get “java script void” popup,java’s on here so not sure what’s going on with that

so Maurine suggest using the “live writer” that’s a good thing as I am able to be telling you my troubles ~lol~ buttttt it doesn’t let me post pictures, when I click insert pic & pull up files I can’t find it even though it’s there when writer is off…so figure!

sooo anybody out there know anything about how to get my java outta the void mode so I can get back to posting the normal way?

I’m posting this on all my blogs, I need all the help I can get ~lol~

IT WASN’T A VIRUS

it was a mother board gone bad a nightmare, you’ve had those, right?if you have a HP tower ,it makes sense to order a HP mother board right??? yea I thought so~lol~but after 4 tries of trying to make different ones fit the computer guy decides to give me a new tower & just transfers everything over to a new hard drive, 2 months!! & all he needed to do was take old mother board out & put in a new one geesh! well enough about that nightmare, it’s over & it’s time to resume that sewing/unfinished project war I had going on with Maurine over at stitchins house of prims,we’ve been chatting by phone & talking about how it’s time to let the games begin & get started on showing you guys some long awaited pictures~lol~ we’re both still sewing here & there& ready to resume this war ~lol~remember the quilt? well I washed it & it came clean with all batting in tack, that’s all I’m gonna say on that just now~lol~, wallpaper’s gone in the kitchen, that’s all I’m saying on that just now ~lol~I have a wedding to decorate for in a few days, the fun never stops ~lol~ my 1st show is fast approaching in Sept but I don’t think I’ll do that one this year as we are still dealing with much needed clean up & repairs from the tornado so looks like my big 2 day Christmas show will be the only one I’ll do this year & that may change as well with so much going on, but all in all I am reminded daily of how very blessed we are & that is why when I walk out my door I am able to look pass the ugly & see the blessing!

SEWING WAR DAY FOUR

Here we are at day four, I'm not sure if the days are dragging or flying by ~lol~I first thought my war buddy was waving he white flag tonight, you know the one...the flag of defeat ~lol~but she assured me that the war was not over & that it was just "truce" flag (time out) ~lol~ just for today but look out tomorrow! for you see she has been busy working on something for "Prim Nest", ohh I'm so proud of her & know she will come up with something wonderful to say as she is good at writing, wished I'd of known about the truce flag today I could of used it ~lol~today started early with more painting over at the fellowship hall over at the church then home to drag my quilt out that I've been trying to finish for....well we wont go there ~lol~only to discover a critter had been sleeping on it, so with over half way to finish it I took out all the straight pins & replaced them with safety pins, sprayed it down with shout it out & into the washer yea yea I know...a big no no but what to do ~lol! hopefully all will be well & I wont have to get the seam ripper to all the hundreds of stitches I already had in it & start all over, tomorrow I hope to find some black/tan homespun to finish up a kitchen project, well I'm off to take my quilt out of the washer, almost scared to look in there ~lol~ then it's off to bed,

SEWING WAR DAY THREE

Can you believe it's day three already & we're still buzzing right along, has the suspense got to you yet lol, we talked tonight about how we'd post our grand waa laa at the end & keep you in suspense for now, for example, Karen thinking that my------------ is a door drafter LOL,speaking of suspense the cookie jar Maurine told you about , well you see why I love it so! it's red! ~lol~ I will always love my red cookie jar,not only because I just love it so ~lol~but because it's a reminder of when two friends met & became bonded for life

there's another project for the kitchen I was working on during all the tweaking
for the chairs to match the runner on the table along with possibly curtains but my homespun is hiding from me today lol but no worries I'll just buy some more ~lol~there's plenty more to get into this week~lol~ here's a sneak peek at what I made today, can you tell what it is? ~lol~

tomarrow I will work on my quilt & can you believe in the mist of this fun I joined a 125 red& white 5"fabric square swap??? ~lol~ so guess I'll get on cutting those out, seeing they're due in the mail next week! Maurine is trying to get me to make my big mamy with babies & a big ole goose pattern up this week , humm that's one of those "just for me " projects, this week is unfinished projects but she may talk me into it, you just never know! ~lol~

well here we are at day two, the week is young right? LOL Maurine thinks she's ahead & it appears that she very well may be but not for long LOL, tomorrow I will think long & hard as to what to tackle, second thought make that before I go to bed LOL there's something about my project today that's just not wanting to pan out, I think it may be from smelling to much paint, that's my story & I'm sticking to it ~lol~ anyways today I went & got a few new toys to help speed things along~lol~

SEWING WAR: DAY ONE

well I did get something accomplished today lol, worked on the fellowship hall over at the church most of the morning so today was mainly a cut out day, I mentioned to Maurine I was doing pillowcases, she replies "piece of cake" ha ha in normal situations yes this would be true but, after half way into the cutting I realised there wasn't enough to make the borders in the coordinating print soooooo had to think think think with the brain,homemade pillowcases run a tad longer than store bought so that's the size I went with so I could get all the borders, trims bla bla bla the same on each pillowcase, these will be sur nuff custom made LOL, tomorrow I will pull my quilt out that I started with my Aunt(we wont say how long ago) LOL it will take working on it a little each day to get it finished, I have spent way too much time letting these pillowcases give me fits & Maurine's just been buzzing away over there, you can check on her here

A SWAP & A SEWING WAR

this fabric will be transformed into body pillowcases & bed pillowcases for two of my grand daughters who have already reminded me I have the fabric LOL LOL

there are a few more things to finish up on my list,like finishing up a 36" pink headed Annie,my quilt , oh mercy that quilt! lol I'm going to get it finished I am I tell you! this will be enough to keep me busy in between cleaning from the storm, & getting things back to normal around here,grand kids are outta school now & asking when Nanna? when?? LOL LOL

AN AMERICANA WREATH

Happy Memorials Day, today kicked off the summer with the first big bar-b-q of the year which will lead to many more through out the summer months ahead, 4th of July is just around the corner LOL

I made this wreath for my niece & delivered it to her today & boy was she surprised!

I'm hopeing this sparks my mojo lol, my sweet friend from MO has challenged me to a sewing war beginning Tuesday,our sewing wars can last a few hours to complete a project to a few days, sometimes we'll do the same thing, Annie, apron etc. but she has challenge me to sew anything & everything between Tuesday & Saturday then show pictures, we haven't set a deadline yet for picture posting yet lol, I have a quilt I've been trying to finish,my grand daughters are wanting custom made pillowcases to match their room surely I'll have something to show for in 5 days LOL

GETTING BACK INTO IT

Oh how I've missed my sewing room, I'm still learning the new machine as well, we're still dealing with Insurance adjusters, getting repairs done from the tornado, but all is well, I'm in the middle of tweaking the kitchen & am in the middle of ripping wall paper off the kitchen walls only to find that the paper on the panel wall underneath is coming off too what a mess! LOL but I have big plans to master this project & get back to sewing up a few things in the upcoming week, someones waiting on a big pink headed Annie & there's pillowcases waiting in line for my grand daughters pillows & body pillows ,there is still so much damage to deal with I'm not sure how long it'll take to get back to normal, we're just taking it one day at a time.

Cannot decide between two or more choices, there is a good chance that the differences does not matter. Most people hesitate in this kind of situation. Become conscious and just choose one choice randomly. 4 Always assume that you will succeed If you don't expect to succeed in an endeavor, then you will not do your best and will not notice possible solutions. If you know that you will eventually succeed then you will concentrate all your power at the problem. Of course, there is no point in attempting what you cannot do, a certain amount of self-knowledge is always needed. 5 If you can't find a solution, try changing the rules. FINALLY SETTLING DOWN....

OR IS IT? LOL The Ala. Women's Conference was fantastic! five grown women, five grown women's suitcases, five grown women's garment bags, pillows, ...you getting the picture? LOL all crammed in my Van & off we go! lol,my pastors wife's grandmother met up with us there, she is so dear & so precious that I've adopted her lol before the conference me,my pastors wife & her mother went up to help "gran ma ma" lol with her computer, well long story short the UPS man didn't show up like he was supposed to that first day so we had to spend the night, then phone company well you get the picture? yep a day trip turned into a two day spend the night party LOL ohh the joys & the fun we had around the piano ,teaching her & me to play Yahtzee, dragging out all her beautiful quilts that she'd made, I was often MIA as I wandered outside taking pictures of the lake,old buildings her dad had built years ago, birdhouses even her little ole wild flowers lol here is sweet little ole gran ma ma ''Annie Lee" with one of her prize quilts

the fun here at Nanna's is far from over LOL it's now time to prepare for our Mother/Daughter banquet then that following weekend out of town with my pastors wife to decorate for her sisters wedding, I think I can breath in June, not sure yet LOL then it picks back up in Aug setting up an outdoor wedding, our ladies conference, my calendar looks like a coloring book I kid you not LOL

Now what about sewing you ask humm well tonight I have to open the fellowship hall & help one of the ladies set up for a Tupperware party but I am determined to get to some much needed sewing now that my new computerized machine knows who does the sewing I kid you not it has a mind of it's own, course trying to sew on the quilt options doesn't help me look too bright LOL LOL

A few weeks back you were waiting to see what I got for my birthday, been so busy thought I'd better hurry & catch up before it's my birthday again LOL LOL sooo much has been happening over here at Nanna's ,the twins, Maegan & Madison just celebrated their third birthday, little Noah is growing like a weed, I'm getting ready to take a group of ladies from the church to a conference with Judy Jacobs & Darlene Bishop, ohhh it's gonna be a good one! OK back to the birthday treasures

not quite sure where to put it or decorate with it just yet, she also got me this cute ruffled apron, oh course I had no shame when I called & dropped the hint that I was gonna get it but got side tracked, I really did get side tracked LOL

I've always loved puzzles, just not enough time to sit still long enough to put one together in a while, my husbands grandmother was always putting one together & asking me how far along was I on my puzzle 2 puzzles from my best friend

the first big challenge of my new sewing machine was to make 15 aprons for my granddaughter's Food Network birthday party a few weeks back,I bout threw it & me into shock as it took literally 24 hrs to complete all 15 especially when an hour goes by & I just realized there were only 14 LOL, the party was a blast & the aprons were a great hit & big surprise

my new passion is pillowcases, I think it's so neat how they wind up being sewn in a jelly roll fashion then turned right side out & waa laa , a pillowcase with no
seams,this one was a pratice run

Iam curently working on another big pink headed Raggedy Ann for a sweet little girl

so as you can see I've been giving that new machine a run for it's money LOL,along with "just for me" projects waiting in line I hope I don't wear it out LOL

A while back I came across some pillowcase tutorials & was fascinated how simple it was to whip one out by sewing all layers then rolling into a jellyroll, sewing along the edge, pulling out & waa laa a pillowcase

yea yea I know we can go to the store & buy pillowcases all day long lol but isn't it rewarding to be able to say "I made that" for my practice one I used some leftover Americana fabric that I had & came up with this

these delicious fabrics will be turned into pillowcases next, the sunflowers just seemed like a fun print, & something about the floral brought back memories of tiny little prints , mostly made from flour sacks on my grandmothers bed & if that can make me smile & flood my mind with memories then yea I prefer it over my store bought ones

when you don't see me on line for over a week you know somethings not right LOL & to miss my own birthday my my! lol, I saw no one but my sweet sister(Picket) who knocked at the door & said just reach for your present lol hubby did come home with yellow roses, he even let me sleep in his recliner all week,sweet sweet man!LOL I will post B'day present pic's soon, sister got me the sweetest apron! speaking of aprons I have a few that I'm just itching to make from the links I found a few weeks back, I'm itching to make pillowcases with that beautiful fabric I bought way back when just for that project yea yea go buy two for the price of one but sometimes it just feels good to say I made that! LOL be sure to visit all three blogs to get all the updates on what's happening over here at Nanna's, I am thankful to have good friends that lifted me up in prayer, even those who were scared to come over lol, remember the 13 aprons for my granddaughter's B'day party? now there's talk in the air of possibly 6-8 Snow White dress's for my twin granddaughter's third B'day party coming up in a few months & noooooo I will not attempt that in one day like I did the aprons LOL LOL so if all goes well there should be a lot fo fabric flying over here but nice & slow don't want to throw the new machine into over kill LOL

Oh happy day! I got a new sewing machine! it's computerise, it has features for quilting & has a mind of it's own LOL I'm use to having to turn the wheel for reverse & when my hand waved across the front I guessed it touched a button &it changed stitches LOL

these are the fabrics I bought to make the aprons for my grand daughter's Food network birthday party , had to make up a pattern cut cur cut & sew sew sew, I actually never went to bed lol sewed non stop from 12 Fri till 10:30 Sat.morning & went straight to the a party got home around 5:30 went straight to bed & woke up at *:00 this morning lol but here they are

Judges & participants, the girls were so tickled when they got to pick their aprons out

Is there no end to the UFO's LOL with all the ufo's yet to be tucked tweaked fluffed we still make a to do list as though we don't have enough to do already LOL & if that's not enough to ponder, we buy more fabric for more projects thus resulting in another to do list LOL

hopefully I'll get my mojo back by the time my machines decide to cooperate & they'd better hurry & work together quick as my daughter wants 12 aprons for my grand daughters food network themed birthday party whew! that will either bring back or kill off the mojo for sure LOL

what do you do craft wise besides sewing? I want to spend more time outside this year, tweak the yard & make it ohh so pretty, perhaps even have a garden if I remember how it’s been so long lol

maybe I can talk the older grand daughters into helping with the tweaking, they do want to learn to sew soooo that could be a great trade off LOL! shhhhh don’t wake me outta my sweet dream lol! the little ones will do anything just because it's fun! fun! fun! lol!

A FEW MORE BLOCKS

remember when I stared my picnic quilt a few weeks ago

yesterday in-between cleaning & washing cloths I worked on a few more blocks, you put 6 together to make one 12”block, if I put these together it’ll be one block down

it will be a great start on a new project when I finish my blue quilt which has to be finished by the end of March seeings I entered it in a finish along challenge ,which I’m glad I did cause it prompted me to get it out of the closet

WILL IT EVER COME?

hummm what have I been doing you say? LIFE! LOL! we just celebrated sisters 60th, my b’days coming up hee hee, I have a granddaughters b’day to help set up this weekend, a ladies meeting & valentine banquet to prepare for, & the list goes on & on for Feb. lol

but in the meantime I still long for my sewing room to be back to it’ pretty creative space, so I collect inspiration, jot down notes, sketch out how I want the room, the big plans are to make it happen by the end of Feb.

can you take 50 plus rooms & turn them into one LOL

how awesome would this room be for sewing parties

LADY BUGS AND SNOWMEN

can you believe we’re about to go into week four ,my how time flies,I’ve had 3 muslin ladybugs cut & sewn up for quite some time for a “me wreath” LOL!oh how cute my door will be come Spring or wall LOL! after twisting, putting in, taking out I finally got it to where I was happy with it

can you see the little antenna's , I bent a thin wire around a tooth pick & that seemed to work just fine

I didn’t have time to finish my snowmen ornies this past show time but they're all ready this years show, I still need to add a little touch of babys breath

, I was out of town at my daughters yesterday so I’m a running behind posting this weeks projects, working on finishing up these snowmen ornies & the muslin cut outs are for a ladybug wreath that’s been in the “just for me” pile for quite a long time LOL

Snow Angel was I believe my absolute favorite to make in 2011

Annie & her Snowman was a delight to make, she is a You Are Special pattern, I have a lot of Sandy’s patterns that I will introduce into the new show season

so that’s what I’m working on in between all the tweaking& making sure I have plenty of supplies, fiberfill, muslin, threads, paints etc& taking time out for just for me projects LOL so I can start on the new show season full speed ahead

I have a new quilting /sewing machine but when she ask did I make it by hand , like I taught you I want to be able to say yes mam! I sur did! lol if the hoop & me doesn’t get along I guess I’ll be holding the quilt in my lap & hope for the best lol

for the After Christmas Sew Along I will be working on some aprons, sewing is at a stand still today as I’m having to get the house ready for an electrician to come in tomorrow

January is a month for fresh new beginnings, as we cull out, declutter, organize, fresh paint here & there, new looks,fix things along the way , clear up more of the tornado damage, revamp the blogs, all is right with the world, well mine anyways LOL
