PROJECT IN THE MAKING

I have a few last min. things to take care of today before I head out to a  women's conference  tomorrow with a few of the ladies from church so it’ll be Mon.. before I can tell you if I did or did not make it before I left , that makes you wantta come back , right?LOL!

ANOTHER PROJECT FOR THE SEWING ROOM

 

In one corner of the sewing room I want to incorporate a sitting area, where I can rip out crooked seams lol, stitch on  quilts, roll rag balls, etc. so an old shutter is getting  a new look & a new use now to flip it over & do the other side, it’s been soooo long to get a new vision for the sewing room & seems like it’s slow going, busy busy week this week, flowing into the weekend, today is our sewing day at the church for our Little Dresses For Africa project

then seven us leave bright & early Fri. morning  to a ladies conference, next week looks bright for the sewing room as hubby is off & can help move the heavy stuff from one wall to the other till I make it all work, did I mention I want an old dinning room table in there that wasn’t in there before LOL!

I’M DONE

 

well almost done lol! remember the yellow sewing room, how the color just made me cringe, almost to the screaming point lol! it was just too dark for my taste, well bright & early this morning I tackled it head on, emptied it out & found that yellow paint I had left over, mixed it with some white, a little beige, there was a bottle of mustard craft paint involved lol!it turned a beautiful soft butter yellow, oh happy day in the sewing room! I tried to take pictures but the walls looked white so perhaps when I get the curtains & things up against them, the color will show up better, I decided to keep & go with the fabric I bought many moons ago for the curtains  I noticed the other day that Hobby Lobby has a coordinating green dot to the green that’s in this fabric, there’s a lot of things for the sewing room getting painted a soft creamy white, can you tell I’m going for a more cottage look this time lol!

I’M SO DIZZY…OH WAIT! THAT’S I’M SOOO BUSY! LOL!

here’s some of my busy week

 

our dress count is growing for “Little Dresses For Africa, a few ladies met Tue. & we cut out, sewed up, laughed “a lot” alllllll day long by the end of the day there were twice as many dresses & a table full of different sizes cut out & ready to go, a few of the ladies took some home to work on & brought back Wed. night, to keep from repeating myself   ~lol~you can read more about that over at Sitting At His Feet http://sittingathisfeetministry.blogspot.com/2012/03/our-dress-count-is-growing.html

this has been a busy week & I know you’re waiting on those “me” project pictures & they’re coming! LOL!a group of us are planning on a road trip this week end, anything an hour away is a road trip ok! LOL!we have a ladies conference coming up so there’ll defiantly be shopping involved, JoAnn’s for fabric’s etc

DAY SEVEN OF A CLEAR WEEK

one day out of seven not to be a clear week’s not too bad lol how could I pass up going to the zoo with all my grand kids lol! but I did finish a project I was working on when I got home this has a been a fun & productive week & just plain fun to make fun stuff for no rhyme or reason,

there’s still a few more things I want to make for the sewing room but will have to work on other things this week, I will meet with some of the ladies of my church & we will  sew more dress’s for Little Dresses For Africa

I’m still looking for a dollie for my lazy Susan, but guess I’ll use my over sized one for pictures sake, cause I know you’re waitin! lol!

only two weeks left in this month, the end of Sept. will be be here sooner than I think  ~lol~(1st show) so April will kick off  some sur nuff sewing! ~lo~

remember my list? well I’ve made another one, a supply list ~lo~I want to make sure I have plenty of supplies when I get started, there’s nothing worse than being in the middle of something & run out of thread or fiberfill , paint etc.

DAY SIX OF A CLEAR WEEK

It wasn’t to clear today lol , went to the zoo with all our grandbabies today & what a time we had!finished up my pillow for the Friday night sew in

for my project I think I will do the tote bag seeing’s I couldn’t make up my mind on the fabric because there's’ a sweet yellow with bees on that keeps calling me soooo today’s the day to choose something lol! this will be a good nudge to get a lot done as this weekend is full, working on the closet, zoo with the grand kids, it’s been a great week of creating things for the sewing room & getting the house in order for more play time this summer lol! as I said a few weeks back with seven grand kids 1yr –14yr I don’t want anything to hold me back from zoo trips, , cookie baking, tea parties, girls day out,picnic’s, cookouts & the list goes on & on !we have “just because we want to ! parties”lol!

DAY FOUR OF A CLEAR WEEK

More supplies

It didn’t seem like I got much accomplished today but actually I did, my youngest daughter called & I had to go watch the twins while she   had to pick my oldest grand daughter up from school & take her to the doctor, so if you can’t sew what can you do with two four year olds? have them  put on their bathing suits & help wash the Van then hose them down! LOL!

so my daytime work has turned into nighttime work lol!I gave the cans a second coat of paint when I got home, I did find some cute vintage like sheet music printed scrap book paper, wooden handled paint brushes, burlap ribbon, now to find the rest of the finishing touches I need for the lazy Susan organizer project

DAY THREE OF A CLEAR WEEK

WHEN IT CALLS YOU

every time I look at this bag on my pintererest board there’s something about it that makes me wantta make one lol

I’ve scouted out a few places for that just right fabric & it’s back to Hancock's first thing in the morning, I did however find some sweet fabric to make this fun pillow

so far I can’t find a dolie for my lazy Susan project, any other time they'd be everywhere, lol!  hopefully Michaels will have one tomorrow

DAY TWO OF A CLEAR WEEK

playing around with  a Lazy Susan makeover, I have this antique lazy susan & one of the trays broke, stuck it back in the cabinet thinking someday I’ll glue it together & just keep it to the back so’s you can’t see it ~lol~ well with all this cleaning, culling out & throwing out, the brokenness just messed with me  soooo I go back to my pinterest eye candy boards ~lol~ & drool over this again

I have enough cans saved up,  I have wooden spools & a dollie but I think I need a smaller one now to get the paint, & special touches I think I just might be able to make this work, what do you think?

DAY ONE OF A CLEAR WEEK

whatever do you do with yourself when there’s a blank space on the calendar, not only one but seven, I kid you not every month  20 something squares outta 30 has something to do in them ~lol~no special events at the church this week, no birthday parties, nothing or nobody to decorate for or sew for, nowhere to go or to be, hubby’s on midnights so he’s sleeping which makes for a quite   house

well I tell ya, looks like the sewing room might get finished this week lol, I found my pattern the other day, been trying to make her for a year ~lol~

I think I have enough cans now to create this for my sewing room  

I plan on finishing my quilt this week & planning  a visit with my sweet little Aunt & show her I finished it! ~lol~

so much to get into this week, so I’m off to get started, see you tomorrow for day two!

APRON’S DONE!

   another day of playing in the kitchen & sewing “just for me” projects lol! I got my apron cut out yesterday & got it put together today, I‘m not happy with the flower it may have to go! lol!

I tried out one of the decorative stitches on my machine, love it even if it did take twice as long to whip together  a simple strip apron lol

 

next week is the start of the sewing room, I’ve decided what to do with those screaming yellow walls & then some! as far as the next “just for me” project, I’ve got my eye on  few things lol! would you like to make one of these aprons? here is the downloaded pattern
