I’M GETTING THERE!
I do do love this look & it takes nothing to open & paint a can lol & I do have a lazy Susan round, I think this would be sweet beside the sewing machine,
I have a door shutter as well as an antique door, I can see one or the other with my rocker done up ohhh so sweet for those mending or ripping out lol times or a magazine & tea/coffee break
I have lots of antique buttons on the original cards “somewhere” lol
i
n the meantime there’s pillowcase’s along with organizing the house & getting my list oh yea I’m a list person LOL! for my upcoming show, the dots are new items I’m introducing this year lol! I always try to get everything done.priced & toted up a week before show time (never happens) lol but this year! lol! with the first show being around the 2nd week of Sept, this gives me about 23 weeks soooo my sewing room’s gotta come together in the next week or so ,
I actually can’t wait to see it all come together, we wont talk about those yellow walls just yet lol! I choose to think on more happy thoughts of what & where to put where & all the Annie's I haven’t made in a while like JOJO .that hair & those fingers & toes are a hoot but sooo worth the outcome! I’m going to make more bigger, fatter loveable Annie's this year

IDEALS ARE WELCOME
there are so many ideals racing through my head for the sewing room, do I tone down the screaming yellow walls or poof be gone all together, I know what you’re thinking, JUST DO IT ALLREADY! well I am, I really am!I’ve got enough pins on pinterest I should be able to jump in on something! I came across a neat site that had great tips on getting that sewing room going lol things we already know but need a refresher in our thinking possess like surround yourself with beautiful things, I get that! but I love the prim look & I love the shabby chic look & I love the vintage whites & browns look soo how do I choose draw names outta of hat? lOl!I know I wantta surround myself with my fabrics, quilts, books, aprons, pillows collections etc.
*keep it organized, I wantta say goodbye to the Rubbermaid drawer thingeys & hello to beautiful jars, crocks, hat boxes etc.
*be comfortable I want to incorporate a sewing area separate from the work are, a mending area like the chair in front of a shutter or antique door ( I have both)in the corner for hemming, reading sipping tea etc.
*minimize distractions, sorry TV, you’re out! lol!
this is just a few things to ponder, in the meantime I’m working on getting the ladies from church together to start sewing pillowcase dress's for Africa http://www.littledressesforafrica.org/blog/
I’ve made pillowcases for my grand daughters, I’ve helped my youngest make the twins a birthday outfit for their upcoming 4th birthday
I know you guys are picture oriented so I’ll get pictures ASAP , the other day well Thur in fact I had a cap fall right outta my head lol hopefully my dentist can glue it back in ohhhh how I hope so !that’s what I’m dealing with this week

DO YOU LOVE APRONS
As much as I do?I think it goes way back from my grand mother, or perhaps the fond memories of my husbands grand mother always making anyone who enters the kitchen wear an apron
remember my patchwork apron?
well it has found a new home hanging on the door of the laundry room at my sisters house yea yea I’m so sweet! LOL & mercy me! when I made 15 for my grand daughters food network birthday party
my little collection could use some growing lol!
the dotted one is made from a dishtowel I purchased from a sweet granny who had a booth across from me a few years ago,the ruffled one is from Pier One , a b’day gift from sister, the black/white, I made from a panel, the pinkie calico one I made from a simplicy pattern, the green one from a sweet granny I came across at a local craft show, as you can see the blue patchwork one didn’t stay long enough to hang out with the others LOL!
I will be making aprons for my shows, so just maybe I’ll sneak in a few just for me lol! would you like to see my apron eye candy folder I have on Pinterest?

the sewing room is almost pass the thinking possess lol I love the rustic look yet the shabby chi calls me as well as the cottage look, is there a way to combine all three humm well there comes a time to just do it so I’m told lol!the more I look, the more calls me such as dress forms, now wouldn’t this print be so sweet in the sewing room
along with a dress form or two
so many ideas I wantta incorporate into the sewing room but as they say there’s only so much room , I think once the room is empty & tone down that dark yellow get some curtains up , get all my eye candy pictures together it’ll come together quicker I’m giving myself to the end of Feb. I can do this!

A FEW MORE BLOCKS
remember when I stared my picnic quilt a few weeks ago
yesterday in-between cleaning & washing cloths I worked on a few more blocks, you put 6 together to make one 12”block, if I put these together it’ll be one block down
with 30 something more to go lol this will be a lap quilt about the size of a throw blanket so there’s still a whole lotto cutting to be done, I’m in no hurry for this project as it is a “just for me” project” so I work on it in-between working on other stuff, guess you could say on my breaks lol
it will be a great start on a new project when I finish my blue quilt which has to be finished by the end of March seeings I entered it in a finish along challenge ,which I’m glad I did cause it prompted me to get it out of the closet
I could whip it through the machine in no time but I started it a year ago with my Aunt & to make a long story short she will ask if I hand stitched it like she taught me, she’s getting up in her 90’s now & starting to have moments of forgetfulness, this drives me to finish it as I can't wait to take it & show it to her & believe you me she will inspect it good! LOL!

WILL IT EVER COME?
Do you ever start out to do something, then things just happen to have to take priority, life in general, babies being born, holidays, birthdays yea excuses excuses lol last year when I painted the sewing room yellow, it didn’t turn out the happy yellow that I was expecting so plans were to paint it over & give the room a whole new look
hummm what have I been doing you say? LIFE! LOL! we just celebrated sisters 60th, my b’days coming up hee hee, I have a granddaughters b’day to help set up this weekend, a ladies meeting & valentine banquet to prepare for, & the list goes on & on for Feb. lol
but I am making progress, lol I’m gradually packing up the sewing room, keeping out only the necessaries for sewing special projects, I’m temporarily sewing in the kitchen ha ha & I have a few quilt projects going, we’ve been culling out & tweaking a room at a time, the office is looking more like an office
but in the meantime I still long for my sewing room to be back to it’ pretty creative space, so I collect inspiration, jot down notes, sketch out how I want the room, the big plans are to make it happen by the end of Feb.
can you take 50 plus rooms & turn them into one LOL
how awesome would this room be for sewing parties
do you have a sewing space to die for, does it inspire you to create something beautiful even if nobody cares? I think I shall print & frame this quote
really like this one too
till next time, happy sewing!
